Hello Parents!

 

Your children’s futures depend on how well we prepare them for success after high school—whether that means college, career training or the workplace. Together, we must work to ensure our students can think critically, work cooperatively and solve problems creatively to contend and thrive in an increasingly competitive world.

 

Thank you in advance for all you do at home to help encourage excitement about learning. Together, we can prepare our students to be among the top in the world by ensuring they think critically, work cooperative and solve problems creatively.

 

Education is currently in a reform, we are improving standards to ensure students are college and career ready, by the time they graduate high school.

 

In the 2014-15 school year, all of Missouri’s schools in grades K-12 will be using Common Core State Standards. These new standards have been described as being “fewer, higher and clearer.” Missouri is taking a step toward Common Core State Standards now. We are teaching to higher standards for each subject so students will be even better prepared when 2014-15 arrives. Our statewide assessment has been revised and improved to better measure whether students are meeting the new standards.

 

View the sample assessment students are required to take at the end of the following grade levels; 3-8 and 11, starting next school year. You will immediately notice the importance of technological skills.

Teachers are currently in the process of putting all curricula online. This will be available to all parents and students. Parents and students are currently able to view, grades 9-12 courses, online through Moodle. For more information on Moodle pages, please contact the course teacher.
